Local Experience awards are complimentary and are rewarded based upon your membership level and activity in the DISCOVERY program. Awards also vary by membership level – the higher the membership level, the more exciting and exclusive the experience.

Gold: Upon Joining
Enjoy a range of complimentary benefits as soon as you enroll in the DISCOVERY program.

Platinum: 10-29 Nights
Move up to Platinum level after staying ten qualifying nights in a calendar year.

Black: 30+ Nights
Join the upper echelons of the jet-set and upgrade to Black after 30 qualifying nights in a calendar year.

Eligibility Periods

Membership level is determined based upon a rolling year for new members, then on the calendar year thereafter. Once achieved, elite status remains in effect through February of the following calendar year.

Members receive one Platinum Local Experience award upon reaching Platinum status, and another each year their status is renewed.
Members receive one Black Local Experience award upon reaching Black status, and another each year their status is renewed.
Platinum and Black members earn subsequent Local Experience awards every time they stay at a new DISCOVERY hotel brand; the Local Experience award will correspond to your current membership level.
